Originally struck in 1982, the Monex Silver Eagle was the first joint minting project by the Royal Canadian Mint and a private company. Its distinctive artistic styling, consistency and pioneering function, made it a popular coin for silver investors.

The 2022 Monex Silver Eagle silver piece commemorates the coin’s 40th year with a renewed look of this industry pioneer, with the same 1 troy oz of 99.9% fine silver and a beautifully designed perched eagle, rendered by recognized wildlife artist Albert Earl Gilbert.

A newly added feature of the coin is the inclusion of engraved radial lines as a backdrop to enhance the coin’s artwork, visual interest and authenticity. Each coin weighs 1 troy oz with a diameter of 39mm and serrated rim. The coin’s obverse features a bald eagle perched on a branch, stating its pure .999 fineness. The round’s reverse features the United States and Canada, “SILVER EAGLE” and the Monex hallmark.

How does the Monex Silver Eagle compare to the U.S. Silver American Eagle coins?

The first U.S. Silver American Eagle bullion coin was minted in 1986, while the Monex Silver Eagle was first issued four years prior in 1982. Today, Monex is producing its one-ounce bullion piece in matte reverse proof style imagery, with an augmented ray pattern in the flat fields thought to deter counterfeiting, while the US American Eagle coin has more of a reflective appearance with a proof-like finish.

Both pieces are one troy ounce of pure 999 silver, but the US American Eagle coin struck at the U.S. Mint, is legal tender. Payment must be initiated on the day of purchase, which means you must mail or wire funds on the day of your purchase. Upon payment verification, you have the power to decide if you want your physical metal shipped directly to your home, made available for pick-up at secure depository facilities located throughout the U.S., or have your metal delivered to a bank/depository for storage.

How long will it take to receive my silver?

Almost every investment in physical metal is unique. For this reason, calculating shipping timing for a unique silver purchase is not a universal answer. The delivery of your metal is dependent on several factors, including the quantity of metal, the time of your purchase, and other relevant details.

On average, physical metal will leave the shipping facility two to five days after confirmed, reliable good funds are received. Upon receipt of payment and confirmation of reliable good funds, Monex will direct one of its independent shipping facilities to package and assign it to either USPS or UPS for delivery. You will then receive an email or a telephone notification of your shipment’s tracking number.

We will deliver your silver with full title and ownership in your name to one of the independent bank/depository facilities that provide storage for Monex customers. When your metal is received by the third party depository, the custodian of the facility will send you a document acknowledging receipt and verifying you as owner of the silver being stored.
