In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the American Eagles, the U.S. Mint is revised the long standing and well respected One Ounce Silver American Eagle with a newly updated reverse design and enhanced security features. The mint commenced the release of this new version July 1st, 2021 and Monex is offering these Type 2 Silver American Eagles for your consideration.

Silver American Eagle Type 2 Design and Specifications
First minted in 1986, Silver American Eagles are pure .999 fine silver, the finest silver coins ever distributed in the United States. Minted in the U.S. Mint’s West Point, New York facility, each coin contains one troy ounce of pure silver, measures 1.598″ in diameter with a thickness of .117,” and has a face value of one dollar.
The obverse of Type 2 American Eagle coin features a refreshed depiction of Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. For the 2021 coin, the United States Mint returned to its original historical assets to render a closer reflection of Weinman’s original vision that includes the addition of his traditional artist mark.
The new reverse design features an eagle as it approaches a landing, carrying an oak branch as if to add it to a nest. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.” Each coin bears the “W” mint mark reflecting its striking at the West Point Mint.
