Platinum Price Outlook
“Platinum prices rose during August, but began to lose momentum during the last week of the month. The biggest support to platinum prices comes from the supply side, with the biggest risk to the platinum market coming from a loss in fabrication demand.
Any weakness in economic growth due to sticky inflation, weaker labor markets, or restrictive monetary policy will begin to hurt demand from both consumers and businesses. At this time, strength in the AI sector is helping to support global economic activity, particularly investment and capital spending. However, the concentrated dependence of global growth on a relatively narrow group of technology-related industries is a risk, particularly if investment in AI infrastructure begins to slow.”
