“Seasonal strength and overall strength in the precious metals complex helped lift platinum prices during January. There were few platinum market specific reasons for platinum prices to rise during the month, however.
Platinum prices touched an intraday high of $1,045.60 on 31 January, the highest level since the end of October. Prices have come off from these highs during the first few trading days of February. Seasonal strength and general strength in the precious metals complex should prevent platinum prices from declining sharply in the coming months. That said, the upside too is expected to be limited.”
