Silver Price Outlook
“Silver prices have also been consolidating since late June and their consolidation tightened even more during July. Prices have been able to stay above the $57 level for the most part, during this period. Prices could continue to consolidate. Price volatility is expected to remain elevated. While a sustained break higher in is expected as the year progresses in the short-term silver prices could rise and fall sharply with no clear directional bias. On the upside there is strong resistance around the $66 level, meanwhile, on the downside prices could slip toward $53.
Higher than expected inflation, for example, could trigger a selloff in silver prices. In the absence of any meaningful surprises in employment, inflation, or any other macroeconomic data could result in silver prices continuing to consolidate. While the outlook for silver prices in the next few weeks is for prices to move sideways, beyond that period, as we get into the final quarter of the year, prices could start to rise. There are several short term as well as long term macroeconomic factors that are expected to drive silver prices higher, additionally, fabrication demand for the metal, especially from the electronics industry is expected to play a role in supporting silver prices as well.”
