Gold Canadian Roaring Grizzly
Design and Specifications
Monex proudly presents the 2016 Roaring Grizzly, the third gold coin released in the Royal Canadian Mint's Call of the Wild series. Consisting of one-ounce .99999 pure gold, this exquisite coin celebrates Canada's second-largest land-based carnivore. Though this enigmatic animal is normally elusive, the RCM has captured one here for you in this beautiful coin.
Rendered in intricate detail by the Royal Canadian Mint engravers, the reverse side of the coin features the profile of a grizzly backed by lines representing his growl. The exceptional details of this coin emphasize the dense fur in full detail, bringing the intensity of the moment to life. The obverse side of the coin features the right-profile image of Queen Elizabeth II designed in 2003 by Canadian artist, Susanna Blunt.
The Canadian Roaring Grizzly coin has a diameter of 30 mm and is crafted from .99999 pure gold, the highest standard available in the world; and at $200 (CAD), has the highest face value of any legal tender one-ounce gold coin. For enhanced security, each coin includes a micro-engraved maple leaf laser mark in the coin's field. In the center of the mark, visible under magnification, the number "16" denotes the coin's year of issue.
A unique credit card sized package protects the coin and is ideal for easy handling and storage. This packaging also features a built-in assay card signed by the RCM's Chief Assayer certifying the coin's authenticity and purity.
